This article came via many sources. First, I receive the magazine, "Gardens and Guns",. I read an article about Highlands NC, which I love to visit, the city borders the Blue Ridge Mountains. Highland's is quaint in itself, but the trip up the mountain is spectacular. Stopping along the way to view the breath taking waterfalls. I will leave Saturday for a mini-weekend trip to Highlands and may post a few photos.
After reading the article in Gardens and Guns, I then found this rustic but elegant home in the Highlands, published in Southern Accents about the architect designers, what stunning design work.
McAlpine Booth & Ferrier Interiors is the partnership of Bobby McAlpine, Ray Booth and Susan Ferrier. Their interiors firm, in existence since 1997, attracts clients from across the United States with designs for both the public and private sectors including residences, restaurants and a chapel. They maintain offices in Atlanta, Nashville and New York.
The driving concept of the firm is to create timeless, emotionally evocative interiors that reflect the vision and needs of their clients. The firm’s founder, Bobby McAlpine, is known for his acclaimed work both in the architectural and interiors field and follows in his work the pursuit to create “the inheritable house.” It is this approach which has led the firm to regional, national and internationally recognized work in publications such as Southern Accents, House Beautiful, Veranda, House and Garden, Metropolitan Home, Traditional Home and British House and Garden.
Having always produced custom furniture, McAlpine debuted his own furniture line, McAlpine Home, in 2002 with upholstered pieces by Lee Industries in North Carolina and English-made case goods from MacRae in Atlanta.
Couldn't resist adding this photo from Highlands NC with a view into the Blue Ridge Mountains. I am 3 hrs. from this location and the temperatures are 10-15 degrees cooler in the mountains than in my city of Charlotte NC. We are experiencing temps into the high 90's now, I am looking forward to a little heat relief.
